JAMMU: Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM), organised an awareness session under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan aimed at addressing the rising concerns of substance abuse and promoting women-centric welfare schemes.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Self-Help Group (SHG) members and the youth.
The session featured Rohit Abrol, Project Manager at JKSPYM (Targeted Intervention Project for Injecting Drug Users), as the resource person. He sensitised the audience about the dangers of drug addiction, especially among youth and stressed on the importance of community support and early intervention in combating substance abuse.
Sunil Choudhary, Specialist in Financial Literacy, Mission Shakti also addressed the gathering. He provided valuable insights on various women-centric government schemes aimed at financial empowerment and self-reliance. His session was instrumental in spreading awareness among SHG members about how to access and benefit from these schemes.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where attendees actively participated and pledged to contribute towards a drug-free society while also committing to empower women through financial literacy and awareness.
