DDC Poonch reviews Rural Development Department performance in district

POONCH: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch Vikas Kundal today chaired a review meeting at the DC Office Complex to assess the progress of developmental works under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented by the Rural Development Department (RDD) across all blocks of the district.

The meeting reviewed physical and financial achievements under key schemes including MGNREGA, PMAY-G and other community development initiatives for the financial year 2025-26.

The DDC reviewed issues related to timely wage payments, Aadhaar seeding, Aadhaar-based payments and geo-tagging under various schemes. Progress under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and Capex Budget PRI Grants was also discussed.

He directed all Block Development Officers (BDOs) to commence new MGNREGA works especially in border areas without delay and ensure their timely completion. Emphasis was laid on Aadhaar linkage of Job Card holders' accounts to enhance transparency.

On PMAY-G, the DDC instructed officials to begin construction of newly sanctioned houses and expedite pending units to achieve full saturation. He also called for recovery from defaulters in pending PMAY-G cases.

The Assistant Commissioner Development and Assistant Commissioner Panchayat were directed to intensify monitoring of all ongoing works for timely and quality completion.

The meeting was attended by ACD, ACP, District Panchayat Officer, Executive Engineer REW, Headquarter Assistant, BDOs, AEEs and JEs of the department.
