DDC Poonch presides over public outreach program at Aspirational Block Mankote

POONCH: In a major step towards responsive and inclusive governance, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Shri Vikas Kundal today conducted a comprehensive Public Outreach Program at the Aspirational Block Mankote, Subdivision Mendhar.
The event, held at the Tehsil Office Complex Mankote, witnessed enthusiastic participation from locals of Mankote and adjoining villages.
The outreach initiative aimed to directly engage with the public, understand grassroots-level issues, and ensure prompt redressal. Officers present at the program included ADDC Poonch, PO ICDS, SDM Mendhar, ACP, ACD, Deputy Director Employment, Tehsildar Mankote, BDO Mankote and other senior officers from various line departments.
During the interactive session, residents projected a wide array of issues and demands pertaining to drinking water supply, banking services, road connectivity, construction of bunkers, education, healthcare, electricity and other essential public utilities.
Addressing the gathering, the DDC congratulated the officials, field staff and the community for the remarkable performance of Block Mankote, which recently secured 1st rank in Jammu Division and 9th position at the national level under the Aspirational Block Programme (ABP). He lauded the collective efforts that led to this remarkable feat and emphasized the need to continue striving for better outcomes.
"Our focus is on addressing existing gaps in critical indicators like banking, health, water supply and other infrastructure. This outreach is an effort to listen directly from the people and take actionable steps to further improve our performance," the DDC stated.
DDC Vikas Kundal assured the residents that their grievances would be addressed on priority and reiterated the administration's commitment to improving service delivery and overall quality of life in the block.
The outreach program served as a meaningful platform for community engagement, policy feedback and collaborative development planning in one of the most dynamic blocks of the district.
