DC Reasi finalises arrangements for Shivkhori Shrawan Mahotsav 2025

REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik, who also serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB), chaired a high-level meeting at the DC Office Complex to finalise arrangements for the upcoming Shivkhori Shrawan Mahotsav 2025.
The month of Shrawan is set to begin on 11th July, with the inaugural function scheduled for 14th July. The DC reviewed all necessary preparations to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the month-long religious festivities.
The meeting focused on critical areas including security, power and water supply, sanitation, healthcare, transportation and crowd management. The police department was instructed to deploy adequate security personnel, while XEN JPDCL and PHE were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply throughout the festival. BDO Pouni was tasked with maintaining cleanliness in Ransoo Bazar and surrounding areas.
DC Nidhi Malik informed that the Mahotsav will host a range of spiritual and cultural programs such as the Kavad Yatra, Shiv Katha, and Bhajan Sandhya. Renowned singers and local artists will present devotional performances dedicated to Lord Shiva, enhancing the religious ambiance. Daily Rudra Abhishek rituals will be performed at the Shivkhori Shrine and Hawan ceremonies will be conducted at the Shiv Shakti Bhawan premises.
Emphasising the importance of health and safety, the DC instructed the Health Department to deploy a medical team equipped with essential medicines and oxygen cylinders at the shrine and bus stand to provide timely medical aid. The Fire and Emergency Services were directed to station fire tenders, extinguishers and other emergency equipment at key locations.
To ensure food safety and fair pricing, the Assistant Director, Food was asked to conduct regular inspections of Langars and food stalls. The ARTO was directed to prevent overcharging of pilgrims by transporters and the PWD was instructed to ensure road repairs and maintenance for safe travel.
DC Reasi reiterated that the district administration is fully committed to ensuring a safe, spiritual and enriching experience for all devotees attending the Mahotsav. She urged all departments to work in close coordination to make this event successful and memorable.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, ADC Rakesh Kumar, ASP Iftkhar, AD Tourism, CMO, XENs of JPDCL and PHE, BDO HQ, DIO (Information) and other concerned officers.
