Poonch administration participates in UT Launch of Mission YUVA

POONCH: A grand and inspiring launch event of Mission YUVA was held today at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner Office Poonch.
The program was a part of the Union Territory-wide formal inauguration of the Mission YUVA initiative, a flagship employment generation scheme of the Labour and Employment Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at nurturing entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities for the youth.
The event in Poonch was virtually connected with the main UT-level function held at SKICC, Srinagar, where the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir presided as the Chief Guest.
At the district level, the launch event in Poonch witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and youth.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Pankaj Mangotra was the chief guest at the local event. Other dignitaries who attended the event were Deputy Director Employment Abdul Majid Tantray, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Nodal Officer JKEDI, Nodal Officer NRLM and representatives from various other departments. Their presence reflected strong administrative commitment and inter-departmental support for Mission YUVA.
Business Help Desk (BHD) members from Mendhar, Surankote and Poonch also joined the event through live YouTube streaming of the UT-level function, ensuring that field-level facilitators remained aligned with the broader vision of the Mission.
More than 100 aspiring entrepreneurs from across the district attended the event and engaged actively, gaining valuable insights into the benefits, eligibility criteria and application process under Mission YUVA. The highlight of the program was the ceremonial handing over of a sanction letter under Mission YUVA to Mumtaz Ahmad, a resident of Baila Mandi for setting up a Carpentry and Joinery Unit at Alla Peer, Haveli Poonch.
The event concluded on a positive and hopeful note, with district officials urging the youth of Poonch to seize this golden opportunity.
