HP&M Department organises workshop on PMFME scheme at Dharmara- Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: A block level workshop on Prime Minister Formalization of Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme was organised today at Thanua Dharmara in Udhampur district.

The scheme promotes Local for Vocal with an emphasis on local population, local manufacturing, local markets and the local supply chains.

The workshop was organized by the Department of Horticulture, Planning and Marketing department in collaboration with the District Administration.

The participants were provided information on different aspects of the scheme, including eligibility criteria, process of filing application and the financial assistance provided to the aspirants. "The scheme envisages a back-ended subsidy of 35% on cost of machinery with complete hand holding by the department for preparation of the DPR, processing of loan application in bank, packaging, branding and marketing of the products" they were informed.

The event aimed to empower local food processors, farmers, rural women and un-employed youth by enhancing their income through the PMFME scheme.

The workshop was attended by Area Marketing Officer Anuj Verma; AGMO Kamal Kishore; AEO Rajender Parshad; HDO Dheeraj Kumar; Chief Manager from J&K Bank Zonal Office Udhampur Sanjay Gupta; Manager J&K Bank Jaganu Madhavi Mahajan; Business Counsellor Saksham Kumar; Prakash Chand from Sahara Jagrati Manch, prominent PMFME beneficiary Rohit Salaria who threw light on different features of the PMFME scheme.
