DLSA Shopian celebrates International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

SHOPIAN: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian celebrated International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking today at District Court Complex Shopian.

The programme was held under the supervision of Chairman DLSA Shopian, Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhary.

Sheikh Gowhar Hussain (CJM) Shopian, Mohd Waseem Mirza (Munsiff/JMIC) Shopian, Rameen Rashid Khan (Addl. Spl. Mobile Magistrate) Shopian, Adv. Gowhar Hussain Wani (President Bar Association) Shopian, Ab. Rashid Magloo (Public Prosecutor) Shopian, Rafie Ahmad Ganie (Chief LADC) Shopian, Advocates, LADC Advocates, Court staff, DLSA staff, PLVs, civil society members & general public were present at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLSA Shopian highlighted the role of society and religious teachings to eradicate the menace of the drug from the society.

He spoke about the devastating impacts of drug abuse and underlined the need for a united fight against this social evil. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness, particularly among the youth, to eradicate drug abuse from its roots.

Besides, President Bar Association Shopian, Public Prosecutor Shopian, Secretary Bar Association Shopian, Panel Lawyer and others also threw light on the topic.
