Div Com Jammu reviews progress of NHAI, NHIDCL, & BRO projects

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar today chaired a meeting to review the progress of different roads and National Highway projects being implemented by National Highways Authority of India, National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited and Border Roads Organization across the division.

The meeting was attended by all Deputy commissioners of Jammu Division, Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu, Director Geology and Mining, Jammu, Regional Officer NHAI, Jammu, Chief Engineers PWD, Jammu and Pir Panjal, Chief Engineer Project Beacon/Sampark, ED NHIDCL and PD NHAI Udhampur, Jammu and Ramban.

During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner took appraisal of the to-date status of Lakhanpur-Srinagar(NH44), Delhi -Amritsar-Katra expressway, Jammu Ring road and Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri National Highway projects, projects under NHIDCL viz. Chenani-Sudhmahadev road, Goha Khellani road, Khellani-Khanabal road, Jammu-Akhnoor NH-144A.

Reviewing the project wise progress and bottlenecks, the Div Com directed the concerned agencies to expedite the pace of work by strengthening the men and machinery set up and a close monitoring of the work progress. He further asked them to inform about bottlenecks, if any, to the district administration for their speedy resolution .

The Divisional Commissioner also discussed the pending issues of land acquisition and forest clearance for the Jammu-Poonch and Budhal-Mahore-Gul roads under project Sampark being executed by BRO. Necessary directions were issued to Deputy Commissioners of Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri and Reasi for completion of the said road projects.

The Divisional discussed the package wise progress of all the road projects and the issues, if any, in its execution.
