International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking: SDRF 2nd Battalion Jammu organises awareness programme

JAMMU: As per the directions of Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF Alok Kumar ADGP J&K, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu, organised an awareness programme at Bn. Hqrs Gandhi Nagar against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to mark "International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.''

Students from MAM College and officers/Jawans of SDRF participated in the simple but impressive awareness programme. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among the youth.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from college students who joined SDRF personnel in taking a solemn pledge to stand against drug abuse and contribute actively in building a drug-free society.

Students of MAM college/officers of SDRF, while speaking on the occasion, emphasized on the importance of educating young minds and empowering them to make informed choices.

The speakers highlighted this year's United Nation's theme, "The evidence is clear: Invest in prevention," as well as the Indian theme ‘'NASHA MUKT BHARAT'' underlining the need for early awareness, community involvement, and proactive prevention strategies. The pledge ceremony served as a reminder of the collective responsibility of society in combating the growing menace of substance abuse.

The SDRF 2nd Battalion Jammu has been consistently engaging in community-based awareness activities, and this observance further reinforced its commitment to social responsibility beyond disaster response duties.
