DCO organizes awareness/ training prog. to observe Intl. Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking

KULGAM: In observance of the International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking, Drug Control Organization (DCO) Kulgam today organized an awareness-cum-training programme at Town Hall Devsar.

The event witnessed active participation of local chemists, who were sensitized about the prevailing drug abuse scenario, its detrimental effects on society, and their critical role in combating this menace.

During the training session, various software modules related to the implementation of a computerized billing system were also demonstrated to the participants, aiming to streamline pharmacy operations and enhance transparency in drug sales.

Assistant Drug Controller, Rumessa Mohammad, along with Drug Control Officers attended the event and addressed the participants. They stressed the need to bridge gaps in prescription drug misuse and underscored preventive strategies to curb the rising threat of drug abuse.

In a parallel event, an awareness rally followed by a roadshow was held at Quimoh, Kulgam. Organized by the Drug Control Organization in collaboration with local chemists, the event featured placards, banners, and slogans advocating for a drug-free society. The rally aimed to amplify the message of collective responsibility in tackling substance abuse
