District Administration Kishtwar observes International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

KISHTWAR: To commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the District Administration Kishtwar organized a grand programme marking the culmination of a 26-day-long IEC campaign aimed at educating and mobilizing the community especially the youth against the menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
The event, held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar Sharma featured a series of impactful activities including thought-provoking speeches by students, a street play, and painting competition, focusing on the theme of substance abuse prevention.
Over 200 School Students from across the district delivered moving performances, demonstrating the growing involvement of the younger generation in social causes and their commitment to fostering a drug-free society.
Chief Guest Assistant Commissioner Revenue Idrees Lone underscored the importance of sustained awareness campaigns and highlighted the critical role of community collaboration in eradicating drug-related issues from society. District Social Welfare Officer Zubair Ahmed, delivered the welcome address.
The event concluded with a solemn pledge, wherein all participants vowed to contribute positively to build a healthier and addiction-free future.
