GANDERBAL: In line with the ongoing efforts to ensure last-mile delivery of government services to tribal communities, a special outreach camp under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) was successfully held today at Village Sumbal, Block Gund, district Ganderbal.
The initiative falls under the broader umbrella of the PM JANMAN (Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan), aimed at equitable development and inclusion of tribal populations.
The camp witnessed significant participation from the local tribal residents, reflecting their growing engagement with the government's mission to empower marginalised communities.
Organised by the IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) team, the event facilitated access to essential government schemes and services through a single-window model.
Key services provided during the camp included Aadhaar enrolment and update services registration under Ayushman Bharat - PM-JAY, issuance of Scheduled Tribe certificates, enrolment under PM-KISAN and Jan Dhan Yojana Sickle Cell disease screening and awareness etc.
The camp also featured interactive awareness sessions, educating attendees on welfare schemes related to healthcare, education, livelihood generation, skill development, and social security.
These sessions encouraged dialogue and helped bridge information gaps between government agencies and the tribal population. Cultural performances were held to celebrate the region's rich tribal identity and foster a spirit of pride and unity among participants.
Informative materials in local languages were distributed widely to enhance community awareness and participation.
The outreach was marked by the presence of sectoral officers, PRI members, frontline workers, and CSC operators, ensuring smooth and coordinated delivery of services.
The convergence of departments under the DA-JGUA framework continues to demonstrate effective implementation at the grassroots level.
Community members and elders lauded the government's sustained efforts in reaching remote villages, calling the initiative a vital step towards inclusive development and tribal empowerment in district Ganderbal.
The day concluded with a strong commitment from all stakeholders to advance the objectives of PM JANMAN and ensure no eligible tribal household is left behind.
