DDC Kupwara chairs DLRC meet; emphasizes financial inclusion, timely implementation of flagship schemes

KUPWARA: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, today, chaired the meeting of District Level Review Committee (DLRC) here to review the performance of line departments and banks with regard to saturation of different government schemes in the district.

Addressing the meeting, DDC emphasized the officers of line departments and bankers for financial inclusion and saturation of various centrally sponsored schemes so that the people especially marginalized sections of the community get benefited at large.

She directed all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work with greater coordination and cohesion to achieve the goals and targets of financial inclusion, besides, generation of employment for unemployed youth of the district.

DDC directed the LDM to ensure weekly submission of progress reports for key government initiatives PM Surya Ghar, Mission YUVA, PM Vishwakarma, and PMEGP. This step aims to enhance transparency, accelerate implementation, and ensure timely monitoring of these transformative schemes, designed to empower citizens and boost grassroots development.

Highlighting the overall performance under the Annual District Credit Plan (ACP) for the financial year 2024-25, LDM informed the house that the district has recorded total credit disbursement of Rs.2534 Crores till the end of the fourth quarter, achieving 155% of the annual target of Rs.1637 Crores.

Under Priority Sector Lending, the district achieved disbursements to the tune of Rs.1188 Crores against the set target of Rs.1411 Crores, registering an achievement of 84%. In the Non-Priority Sector, disbursements stood at an impressive Rs.1345.52 Crores against the target of Rs.226 Crores, thereby achieving 595% of the annual target.

Further, under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), banks in the district have disbursed Rs.449.18 Crores among 24,222 beneficiaries, promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship. Under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), a total of Rs.8146.10 Lakhs have been disbursed against 1647 sanctioned cases up to 31st March 2025.

As part of the recently launched PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, 131 cases have been received in the district, out of which 27 have been disbursed, 18 sanctioned, and 48 cases are under process as of 26th May 2025. In support of women-led development under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), banks have disbursed Rs.3827.39 Lakhs across 1337 cases out of a total 1393 applications received, reflecting a high disposal rate.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Kupwara, Mufti Fareed Ud Din; CPO, DDM NABARAD and officers from line departments, besides representatives from different banks and other concerned were present in the meeting.
