Awareness camp on PMFME scheme held at Dangam Shopian

SHOPIAN: In a series of awareness programmes being conducted by the Department of Horticulture Planning & Marketing in district Shopian, Area marketing Office/DNO PMFME Shopian today organized an awareness programme on Prime Ministers Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme at Panchayat Ghar Dangam Shopian.

A gathering of potential individual entrepreneurs particularly members from Cooperatives, FPOs and individuals of the district participated in the event.

Officers/ officials from Area Marketing office and line departments viz. Agriculture and Horticulture Production departments and DRP attended the program.

GMI Shopian addressed the gathering and presented an overview and potential scope of the scheme in the district which offers 35% credit linked capital subsidy with a maximum ceiling of Rs. 10.00 lakhs and Rs. 40,000 seed capital per member for SHGs and Producer Cooperatives with a support for branding and marketing and hand holding to the units to be established under the scheme.

HDO and AEO zone Kaprin also deliberated on benefits of availing the scheme to generate self employment and also helping the farmer community to curb post harvest losses in Horticulture and Agriculture produce. Expressing the desire, some potential entrepreneurs were registered on spot.
