Awareness programme, health camp organised at NRLM Office Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: A Training-cum-Awareness Programme and a Health Camp was organized today at the Training Hall NRLM Office.
The event was a collaborative effort under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) - Umeed, aimed at promoting health awareness and empowering Self Help Group (SHG) members with essential healthcare knowledge and services.
The programme was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma as the Chief Guest.
The Deputy Commissioner lauded the initiative and emphasized the importance of generating health and hygiene awareness among rural women to ensure the holistic development of communities. He encouraged SHG members to actively adopt healthy practices and make use of available healthcare services.
The BPM NRLM (Umeed) highlighted the role of such initiatives in strengthening grassroots awareness and building healthier, self-reliant communities.
Expert medical support was provided by Dr. Nazir Hussain, Medical Officer, and Dr. Soniya Sharma, Community Health Officer (CHO), who conducted comprehensive health check-ups and interactive sessions.
They discussed preventive healthcare measures, nutrition, and addressed health-related queries raised by participants.
The programme witnessed active participation from SHG members of CD Blocks Thakrie and Trigam, who expressed appreciation for the initiative and took part in the sessions with great enthusiasm.
As part of the camp, nutritional supplements including protein products were distributed among the participants to support their well-being.
The event was attended by BMO Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma; MO Dr. Nazir Hussain; MO Dr. Soniya Sharma; Block Programme Manager NRLM (Umeed) Ab Hamid Lone; besides other staff of the concerned departments.
