Awareness on govt. schemes, financial assistance, marketing support & skill dev. progs. held at Kulgam

KULGAM: To empower local artisans by providing vital information on various government schemes, financial assistance, marketing support, and skill development programmes, Handicrafts & Handloom department Kulgam successfully organised an awareness programme for artisans and weavers in the district.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 artisans and weavers across Kulgam. Officers from the department addressed the gathering, offering insights on how to avail benefits under different departmental schemes.

In his address, Assistant Director Handicrafts & Handloom Kulgam, highlighted the government's commitment to the upliftment of traditional crafts. He also encouraged artisans to leverage digital platforms for marketing and expanding their outreach.

The session featured distribution of informative brochures, an interactive Q&A session, and experience sharing by prominent award-winning artisans.

Lead District Manager Kulgam, resource persons from JKEDI Kulgam, and the Craft Development Institute Srinagar also shared valuable inputs on various relevant topics.
