SDRF J&K hosts interactive session with civil society members

JAMMU: An interaction with senior dignitaries, retired Police officers and prominent civil society members was organized today at SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu under the guidance of Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K (ADGP) Alok Kumar.
At the outset, the senior dignitaries, retired Police officers and prominent civil society members were welcomed by DIG, HG/CD & SDRF Jammu Mohammad Arshad.
The DIG, HG/CD & SDRF Jammu gave a presentation, briefing the guests about steps taken to strengthen the Civil Defence set up, with a focus on recognizing the community as an important stakeholder, encouraging its involvement and reinforcing the bond between the District authorities and the civil society for a more effective role in dealing with any disaster like situations.
The dignitaries extended full support for strengthening Civil Defence and gave valuable suggestions which were incorporated for implementation.
Retd DGP J&K A. K Bhan also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the need to create mass awareness about the importance of readiness during any war like situation.
At the end, Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu Zahid Naseem Manhas presented the vote of thanks to all dignitaries and guests.
The key dignitaries present in the interaction were Retd Chief Justice of J&K & Ladakh High Court Justice Tashi Rabastan; Retd. Chief Secretary J&K B.R Sharma; Retd DGP J&K S.P Vaid and Bharti Vaid; Retd DGP A. K. Bhan; Retd. Member J&K PSC K. B. Jandial; Retd. Dy AG J&K Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, besides the officers of the organization.
