DC Kishtwar distributes sponsorship benefits under Mission Vatsalya

KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma today distributed ₹ 78.03 lakh among 231 eligible beneficiaries as Non-Institutional Care Sponsorship benefits for the financial year 2024-25.

The initiative forms part of Mission Vatsalya, a Centrally Sponsored Scheme envisaging the care and protection of children in vulnerable circumstances.

The distribution underscores the administration's commitment to safeguarding child rights and providing essential support to children in need, enabling them to lead a secure and dignified life.

The sponsorship assistance is extended under various eligibility criteria, including orphans, children with a single deceased parent and those suffering from life-threatening diseases or living with disabilities.

The financial support will help address the critical needs of these children, particularly in the areas of education, nutrition and healthcare.

The distribution event was held in the presence of Zubair Ahmed Lone, District Child Protection Officer (DSWO Kishtwar) and Chetna Sharma TSWO Kishtwar.
