BANDIPORA: As part of the pan-India Rescue and Rehabilitation campaign, district administration Bandipora conducted surprise inspections across the main market and nearby areas to identify and prevent instances of child labour.
A joint team comprising officials from the Labour Department, DLSA, Child Protection Unit, CWC, Child Helpline, and Bandipora Police carried out the drive. The inspections aimed at enforcement as well as raising awareness about the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act.
Shopkeepers and the public were sensitized on the legal and social consequences of employing children. Officials reiterated the district's zero-tolerance policy towards child labour and stressed the need to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
The administration urged citizens to report violations through the Child Helpline at 1098 and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting child rights through strict enforcement and continued public outreach.
