RAJOURI: In line with the action plan of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, a series of Yoga sessions were conducted today across all fifteen zones of the Rajouri district as a prelude to the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, being celebrated under the theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health."
The field staff of the department, including Physical Education Lecturers (PELs), Physical Education Masters (PEMs), Physical Education Teachers (PETs), Rehbar-e-Khel (REKs) and National Youth Corps (NYC) volunteers, enthusiastically organized yoga sessions at public parks and community centers. These sessions were aimed at encouraging students, youth, and the general public to adopt yoga as a part of their daily routine and to generate widespread awareness about its physical, mental and environmental benefits.
The district-wide initiative saw active participation from all age groups and witnessed a positive response from local communities. The event is part of a week-long prelude that began on June 15 and will continue till June 20, culminating in the grand celebration of International Day of Yoga on June 21.
