IEC campaigns organised under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan in Budgam

BUDGAM: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a series of Information, Education & Communication (IEC) campaigns were today held in the Charar-i-sharief area of district Budgam, aimed at creating awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a drug-free lifestyle among the youth.

The programmes were organised at Alamdar Wakf Model School and Life School at Rozabal, witnessing active participation from students, teaching staff, and members of the local community. The events were conducted with the support of various line departments including Health, Education, Social Welfare, and the Municipal Committee Charar-i-Sharief.

Speakers from the departments sensitized the audience about the growing threat of substance abuse and its impact on individuals and society. Emphasis was laid on prevention, early identification of high-risk behaviour, importance of parental and institutional support, and the availability of counselling and rehabilitation services.

Interactive sessions, anti-drug pledge ceremonies, group discussions, and distribution of educational material marked the events. The aim was to equip young minds with accurate information and motivate them to become proactive in spreading the message of a drug-free society.

The campaign served as a platform to reinforce collective responsibility in addressing this serious issue of drug menace.
