RAJOURI: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, a series of impactful awareness activities were held across different blocks of Rajouri district under the aegis of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The events witnessed overwhelming participation from the public, particularly the youth.
Resource persons from stakeholder departments led the campaign, spreading awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse and emphasizing its harmful impact on health, society and future generations.
The youth were informed about the devastating effects of the drugs and advised to remain steadfast in the resolve to stay safe and contribute positively to the nation's development.
In a show of commitment to the cause, Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma personally visited several awareness camps to take stock of the activities. During the visit, he interacted with the participants and encouraged them to act as ambassadors of change in their respective communities. He also directed concerned officers and field functionaries to further intensify the campaign across the district.
"The youth of Rajouri district are the future of this nation. We must ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and support they need to lead a healthy and productive life. The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is a crucial step in creating a drug-free society, and we will continue to make all efforts to intensify this campaign," said DC Abhishek Sharma.
Taking serious note of absence and lackadaisical conduct of some officials in the execution of the campaign activities, the DC ordered immediate action against them. The DC emphasized that laxity in such a crucial mission will not be tolerated.
