DC Ramban reviews arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2025 at Banihal

RAMBAN: In preparation for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2025, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan today visited Banihal to inspect the civic facilities at key yatra camp-sites and maintenance work on National Highway-44.
SSP Kulbir Singh, ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak, PD NHAI Parshotam Singh, SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb, SDM Ramsoo Mazahir Hussain Shah, Executive Engineers from PWD, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, REW and other district officers accompanied the DC during the visit.
During the inspection, the DC directed NHAI to deploy additional manpower and machinery to clear debris, improve road shoulders and blacktop key stretches along Nashri to Banihal stretch of the NH-44. He also asked for speedy completion of the Canopy (Cut and Cover) Tunnel at Mehar-Cafeteria Morh Ramban to minimize traffic congestion.
At Lamber Ground, a key Yatra camp site, the Deputy Commissioner instructed JPDCL to ensure uninterrupted power supply in and around Yatra camp and keep emergency generators ready at all critical locations, particularly those of strategic importance.
Emphasizing safety, the DC discussed the security measures with SSP and directed to ensure flawless functioning of all CCTV cameras and joint control rooms. He set a strict deadline of June 20 for completion of all the tasks assigned to different departments.
