Potential Entrepreneurship Mela held at GDC Ramban

RAMBAN: District Employment and Counselling Centre, in Collaboration with Government Degree College Ramban today organised an Entrepreneurship Mela on the college campus to encourage youth for self-employment and acquaint them with different government initiatives, particularly Mission YUVA.

The event was inaugurated by Chairperson District Development Council Dr. Shamshad Shan as the Chief Guest, Additional District Development Commissioner Roshan Lal presided over the function as the Guest of Honour.

The programme began with a welcome address by Assistant Director, Employment, Ramban Amit Kumar, who briefed participants about the objectives, eligibility, and operational structure of Mission YUVA, a mission aimed at empowering unemployed youth through skill-building and entrepreneurship.

The mela witnessed an overwhelming participation of more than 300 young individuals. The YUVA Doots facilitated on-spot registration under Mission YUVA.

In her address, the Chief Guest highlighted the significance of self-reliance and entrepreneurship in nation-building, while the Guest of Honour encouraged youth to take full advantage of Mission YUVA and other self employment government schemes.

A special segment was dedicated to success stories of entrepreneurs who have benefited from the government sponsored self-employment schemes. They shared their journeys and were later felicitated by the dignitaries.

Additionally, the stall setups by different departments offered one-on-one guidance to the aspiring entrepreneurs about various employment and training schemes.

The event was supported by education and skill development institutions including Polytechnic College Ramban and ITIs. The prominent persons present were the College Principal Prof. Satish Kumar, Principal Polytechnic College Ramban Er. Vivek Mahajan, Career Counselling Officer Aamir Hassan and staff members from DECC, Polytechnic, ITI, ICDS, and GDC.
