Potential Entrepreneurship Mela held at KVK Samba under Mission YUVA

SAMBA: To promote self-employment opportunities and nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship among youth, a Potential Entrepreneurship Mela was organized today at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Samba under the ambitious Mission YUVA initiative.

The event was inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner Champa Devi Thakur, as the Chief Guest.

The mela witnessed enthusiastic participation of more than 200 young and aspiring entrepreneurs from across the district.

The line departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Handloom, Handicrafts, NRLM, and others showcased their self-employment schemes through informative stalls set up at the venue.

The ADDC, accompanied by Chief Scientist & Head KVK Samba, Dr. Sanjay Khajuria, Assistant Director Employment, Superintendent ITI, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Officer NRLM, and other officers, inspected the stalls and interacted with departmental representatives.

A special highlight of the event was the Help Desk of Mission YUVA, where participants were provided detailed information about the scheme and guided on using the Mission YUVA mobile app. More than 70 participants downloaded the app on the spot, reflecting the growing interest in government-backed entrepreneurship initiatives.

The event also featured interactions with successful entrepreneurs from various sectors, who shared their personal journeys, challenges, and achievements to inspire the youth. Their real-life experiences served as motivational case studies, encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to take full advantage of available government support systems.

In his concluding address, Chief Scientist & Head KVK Samba, Professor (Dr.) Sanjay Khajuria, lauded the District Administration for organizing such a meaningful initiative and stressed the need to conduct similar programs regularly at grassroots level to ensure outreach and impact across all corners of the district.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Samba through collaborative efforts.
