JKEDI trains 87 aspirants under RAMP scheme at Jammu, Poonch, Kathua

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Saturday successfully concluded three Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programs (ESDPs) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme.
The initiative, funded by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, is being implemented in the Union Territory by the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
These training programs conducted in district Jammu, Poonch and Kathua aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and enhancing the capabilities of aspiring entrepreneurs across the region.
Launched in the third week of May 2025, the four-week-long ESDPs trained a total of 87 aspiring entrepreneurs, including 42 women. Each program involved 104 hours of intensive training, blending classroom instruction, expert sessions, field visits, and practical workshops.
At Jammu, 28 participants including 20 women completed the training, while in Poonch 29 aspirants including nine females were trained during the ESDPs. Thirty candidates including 13 women were trained under ESDP at Government ITI Kathua.
Designed by domain experts, the curriculum focused on building core entrepreneurial competencies. Key modules included business planning, marketing strategies, digital enablement, financial literacy, legal compliance, innovation, and leadership. Participants also benefited from mentorship, real-world case studies, and visits to successful business ventures in their respective districts.
Valedictory sessions were held at each district to mark the successful culmination of the training programs. JKEDI faculty and officials played a central role in training delivery and coordination, while subject experts from the Labour and Employment Department and respective District Industries Centres contributed valuable sector-specific insights, enriching the learning experience.
The programs were closely monitored by JKEDI's designated reviewers, who conducted regular feedback sessions to maintain quality and ensure the training remained relevant to participants' entrepreneurial goals. The successful completion of these ESDPs is expected to significantly contribute to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, fostering the development of competitive, innovative, and employment-generating enterprises that will drive sustainable economic growth in the region.
