DC Kulgam reviews implementation of Credit-Linked schemes of Agriculture & allied sectors

KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan convened an important meeting today with officers from the line departments and representatives of banking institutions at the DC Office complex to review the implementation of credit-linked schemes of agriculture and allied sectors.

The meeting focused on assessing the performance matrix, as well as the sanctioning and disbursement status of the credit linked schemes in the district.

DC comprehensively reviewed the progress and achievements of several key initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Enterprises scheme (PM-FME), PM KISAN, Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF).

He emphasized that achieving the desired targets in the agricultural sector relies heavily on the proactive involvement of banks in providing hassle-free credit facilities to farmers.

DC directed the Lead District Manager to ensure that all pending cases under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises scheme (PMFME) are disbursed by this weekend.

Additionally, he instructed the Chief Agriculture Officer to clear all e-KYC pending cases for active land-seeded beneficiaries of PM KISAN.

Khan urged the executing departments and banks to maximize outreach, ensuring that every farmer and farming family in the district is covered under these schemes.

He set clear targets for all departments, highlighting the need for close coordination between banks and government agencies to facilitate seamless implementation that directly benefits the farming community.

The meeting was attended by officials, including CPO, GM DIC, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, AD Fisheries, AD Handicraft, District Head KVK/KVIB, Sericulture and the Lead District Manager of J&K Bank and other concerned.
