Forest Deptt to develop integrated Green Forest Campuses in Kashmir Region

SRINAGAR: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force (PCCF/HoFF), Jammu & Kashmir, Suresh Kumar Gupta chaired a meeting today to review the development of integrated Green Forest Campuses across the Kashmir region.

The meeting was attended by T. Rabi Kumar, Additional PCCF and CEO CAMPA; Irfan Rasool Wani, Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir; Tawheed Ahmad Deva, Conservator of Forests, Srinagar Circle; Dr. Syed Nadeem, Conservator of Forests, South Circle; Ifan Ali Shah, Conservator of Forests, North Circle; along with all territorial Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs) of the Kashmir region.

The discussion focused on the master plans for developing eco-friendly and sustainable integrated Green Campuses in existing forest offices.

PCCF underscored the need for detailed planning and effective execution to ensure these campuses become models of environmental sustainability.

He directed DFOs to conduct safety audits of old and unsafe structures within forest campuses and dispose them off to make way for new development. He stressed the importance of creating comprehensive site plans that include nursery, rainwater harvesting, plantations, waste disposal and adoption of integrated complexes having sister department at one place.

The meeting concluded with directives for regular monitoring and periodic reviews to track progress, address challenges, and ensure the timely and effective implementation of Green Forest Campuses across Kashmir.
