SANJY-2025: DC, SSP Ramban review arrangements to ensure pilgrim safety & comfort

RAMBAN: In preparation for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025, Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary and Senior Superintendent of Police Kulbir Singh conducted an extensive review of arrangements at the SASB Yatri Niwas, Langer Site Chanderkote, and other key locations, here today.

The visit aimed to ensure that all necessary arrangements, including security, accommodation, sanitation, traffic regulation and healthcare are in place for the convenience of the pilgrims.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACR Skokat Hayat Mattoo; ACD Shrinath Suman; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat ACP Ashfaq Ahmed and other government functionaries.

During the on-site review and subsequent meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for meticulous inter-departmental coordination and timely execution of all arrangements. He directed the nodal officers to ensure readiness of facilities at yatri niwas, langer sites at Chanderkote and other designated lodgment centres. These centres are critical for managing the large influx of pilgrims during the Yatra, he added.

Executive Engineers JPDCL, Jal Shakti, and PWD were instructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply, adequate water availability, and other basic amenities at all Yatra-related sites. The departments were given a deadline of June 20 to complete all infrastructural and logistic preparations.

The Deputy Commissioner issued clear directions for effective traffic regulation on the National Highway-44, especially between Nashri and Banihal, to prevent congestion and facilitate smooth movement of Yatra convoy.

The Health Department was directed to deploy sufficient staff at all designated sites and ensure that all health institutions along the route are fully equipped to handle any medical emergency. The department was further asked to keep Ambulances on standby along the Yatra route for prompt response.

The ARTO was instructed to ensure availability of standby buses to assist Yatris in case of vehicle breakdowns, ensuring uninterrupted travel.

Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner laid stress on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation at all Yatra locations. He directed the concerned departments to implement a robust solid waste management plan for scientific disposal of waste.
