Hardcore drug peddler arrested with heroin-like-substance, sharp weapon

KATHUA: A hardcore drug peddler was arrested with 5.76 grams of heroin-like-substance and a sharp weapon (khokhri) from Billawar area.

During routine naka duty at Pallan area, a party of police station Billawar led by SHO concerned, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, under the supervision of SDPO Billawar, Neeraj Padyar, noticed one person moving under suspicious circumstances.

"On seeing the police, the suspected individual tried to flee away from the spot. He was, however, overpowered by the alert police staff and arrested," he said.

On search of the suspected individual, he said, 5.76 grams of heroin-like-substance and a sharp weapon (khokhri) was recovered.

Accordingly, the accused was booked in case FIR number 87/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act and 4/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station Billawar and further investigation taken up, he said.
