GDC Ramgarh hosts maiden Alumni Meet, Summer Internship Counselling Session

SAMBA: Government Degree College Ramgarh proudly hosted its first Alumni Meet, bringing together former students for reminiscing and celebrating past days. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the college and coordinated by Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Head of the Department of English and Convener of IQAC.
Addressing the alumni, the College Principal highlighted the enduring bond between alumni and the institution. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the alumni for their continued support, saying, "Our alumni are the pillars of our legacy. Their achievements reflect the excellence of the college and we are proud to honor their journey."
The event concluded with some melody and renewed commitments to strengthen alumni-institution ties through mentorship programs and collaborative projects and college improvements.
Meanwhile, the college organized a Summer Internship Counselling Session for the 5th semester students. The event was conducted in collaboration with SANKALP - Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW), Mission Shakti, Social Welfare Department.
The counseling session was coordinated and conducted by Dr. Snobar, Convener, Entrepreneurship Cell, with active support from other members.
The event witnessed vibrant interactions between students and a distinguished panel of resource persons. Dr. Ruchi Thakur, District Mission Coordinator, Social Welfare Department, highlighted the department's continuous efforts towards women empowerment and their skill development.
Gender Specialists Mansi Abrol and Ritika Banotra provided valuable insights into the objectives and schemes under Mission Shakti, with a focus on skill-based learning and achieving financial independence. They highlighted various training programs offered through the SANKALP Hub, including Bakery, Culinary Arts, Resin Art and Craft, Handicrafts and Tailoring, Beauty and Wellness Training and encouraged students to participate actively and explore alternative career opportunities.
