RAMBAN: On the second day of their two-day tour of Sub-Division Gool, Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan and MLA Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen convened a review meeting at Dak Bungalow Gool to assess the progress of ongoing developmental works and address public grievances at a dedicated redressal camp.
The meeting witnessed active participation from DDC Saki Mohd; DDC Fiyaz Ahmed; Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gool, Imtiaz Ahmed; Tehsildar Harjeet Singh, local SDPO, BDOs, CDPO, BMO, public representatives and officers from line departments.
The DDC Chairperson conducted a comprehensive review of developmental projects being implemented under various schemes.
Emphasis was laid on the restoration and up-gradation of roads, irrigation canals (kulls), school infrastructure and speedy execution of water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission. Progress on land identification for upcoming government projects was also examined.
Taking stock of public grievances, Dr. Shamshad Shan sought detailed action-taken reports from departmental heads and directed immediate redressal of pressing issues. She also instructed the SDM Gool to officially propose inclusion of scenic locations such as Dagantop, Jabbar, Narsanga, and Rama Kunda on the region's tourism map. The initiative will boost eco-tourism, generate livelihood opportunities and showcase the natural and cultural heritage of these lesser-explored destinations, she noted.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Sajjad Shaheen reiterated the UT Government's commitment to inclusive and equitable development, particularly in remote and underserved areas like Gool. He highlighted key achievements in education, power, road infrastructure and water supply. He also reaffirmed his commitment to resolve critical issues such as staff shortage in schools and the upgradation of essential public institutions.
The DDC Chairperson directed all departments to ensure timely completion and regular monitoring of ongoing works and submit action-taken reports, especially in response to recent public complaints regarding services delivery.
Appreciating the role of elected representatives, the SDM Gool urged PRIs to prioritize community-centric infrastructure projects in their developmental planning. He encouraged them to put in extra efforts for effective implementation of government schemes across sectors.
