DC Poonch reviews implementation of HADP, other agriculture and allied sector schemes in district

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) in the district.
The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination among agriculture and allied sectors and ensure timely execution of key government initiatives benefiting the farmers.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Assistant Floriculture Officer, Area Grading and Marketing Officer and the District Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Poonch.
Detailed discussions were held on the progress of major schemes including the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and PM-KISAN. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the targets set under these schemes, the achievements made so far and the existing gaps. He directed the concerned officers to intensify efforts to bridge the gaps, if any and ensure maximum coverage of eligible farmers under the twin schemes. Special emphasis was laid on streamlining the application and verification processes to avoid delays in benefit disbursement.
The DC also reviewed the ongoing livestock vaccination drive being conducted by Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry Departments. He stressed on maximizing vaccination coverage to safeguard the livelihood of livestock dependent families.
Earlier, the officers presented updates on the progress under HADP and future plans being executed by their respective departments. They said the focus is being laid on increasing productivity, strengthening value addition chains, development of allied sectors like fisheries, floriculture and sericulture and improving farmer outreach.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized inter-departmental coordination, field level monitoring and farmer engagement to achieve holistic and sustainable agricultural development. He urged all departments to work collaboratively to ensure effective implementation of the program across the district
