REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik chaired a meeting of the District-Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee today to review the status of Aadhaar enrollment and saturation across different age groups in the district.
During the meeting, the DC evaluated Aadhaar enrollment data in three key categories viz 0-5 years, 5-18 years, and 18 years and above. She expressed satisfaction over the district's commendable performance in the 5-18 and 18+ age groups, reflecting better saturation levels than the average at the Union Territory level.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Health Department and Poshan Reasi to work in close coordination to address the shortfall in the 0-5 year category and ensure that all Aadhaar enrollment centers and devices remain fully functional. She also instructed the DPO Poshan to ensure timely renewal of certification of all CELP operators to prevent service disruptions, and to make all Aadhaar registration tablets functional at Anganwadi centers for enrolling children in the 0-5 year age group.
Further, the DC Malik directed the health department to upgrade Aadhaar biometric machines from L0 to L1 version at its facilities to enhance service delivery.
The Education Department was also tasked with organising awareness campaigns in schools to highlight the importance of biometric updates for students' Aadhaar cards-especially for those preparing for competitive examinations.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner urged all nodal officers to update details of pending Aadhaar applications on the Aadhaar portal to ensure that the same are processed in a time-bound manner.
The meeting was attended by CPO Narinder Kumar, PO ICDS Rakesh Kumar, DSWO, DIO, Project Manager from UIDAI and other key officials.
