Bike lifting gang busted in Udhampur; 5 stolen bikes recovered, accused arrested

UDHAMPUR: Busting a bike lifting gang in Udhampur, Police recovered five stolen bikes and arrests two alleged bike lifters.

According to the police, multiple motorcycle theft cases were reported at Police Station Udhampur in last few months and during the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up.

During sustained questioning, two suspects, namely Mohd Junaid, son of Abdul Rashid of Navpora, Doru, District Anantnag and Shabir, son of Shahab Din of Mehboobabad, Doru, District Anantnag, confessed their involvement in the thefts.

Based on their disclosures, the police recovered five stolen two-wheelers, collectively valued at approximately Rs 12 lakhs.

These included Yamaha R15 (without registration number) - Chassis No: G67KBRDD46D26, Yamaha R15 - Registration No: JK14K 8425, Royal Enfield Bullet - Registration No: JK14J 3405, Hero Splendor (without registration number) - Chassis No: MBLHAW128NHMC7174, KTM - Registration No: JK14E 6067.

With these arrests, Police have successfully busted the bike-lifting gang and further investigation is going on.
