SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Samba Rajesh Sharma today outlined an extensive multi-departmental coordination framework to ensure the seamless conduct of the upcoming Baba Chamliyal Mela and Baba Sidh Goria Mela, emphasizing the administration's commitment to providing pilgrims with a safe, well-organized, and spiritually fulfilling experience.
At a crucial preparatory meeting held in the DC Office, comprehensive arrangements spanning water supply, sanitation, security, traffic management and public welfare were meticulously reviewed and finalized.
The administration has prioritized essential services, with the Jal Shakti Department deploying strategic water tankers across identified locations to prevent any shortage of drinking water, while Block Development Officer and Executive Officer Municipal Committee have been directed to maintain exemplary sanitation standards.
To enhance visitor experience and navigation, the Tourism Department, in collaboration with the Information Department, will install informative hoardings and banners at strategic locations, complemented by comprehensive signage and well-publicized route plans developed by the Revenue, Police and Transport Departments to facilitate smooth pilgrim movement.
Security and safety measures form the cornerstone of the arrangements, with thorough reviews of fire safety protocols, traffic regulation systems, and health official deployment ensuring comprehensive protection for all attendees.
The Food Safety Department, working alongside concerned agencies, will establish joint market-checking teams to conduct intensive quality inspections and monitor pricing of food and essential items, safeguarding consumer interests during the religious gathering. Additionally, various government departments will establish educational stalls at the mela venues to raise awareness about government schemes and welfare programs, transforming the religious occasion into an opportunity for public engagement and service delivery.
The meeting, attended by senior officials including SSP Samba Virender Singh Manhas, ADDC Champa Devi, ADC Jagdish Singh and representatives from PWD, PDD, PHE and other key departments, reflects the administration's holistic approach to event management that balances spiritual reverence with modern administrative efficiency, ensuring that thousands of devotees can participate in this sacred celebration with complete peace of mind.
