Awareness program on POSH Act held at South Campus of Kashmir University

ANANTNAG: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Anantnag conducted an awareness program on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace (POSH Act) at Kashmir University South Campus.
The keynote speaker for the event was Fozia Paul, Secretary DLSA. She discussed in detail the legal framework surrounding the POSH Act and highlighted the need for creating a safe and inclusive work environment. She also discussed the role of institutions in upholding the dignity and rights of individuals at the workplace.
The event aimed to educate participants about the importance of constituting Internal Complaints Committees (POSH cells) on campuses, and the proper procedures for reporting and addressing complaints of workplace harassment.
Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Mohammad Aleem served as the resource person and provided insights into working of free legal aid services under Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
Program witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and administrative staff, reflecting the growing awareness and commitment to ensuring a harassment-free workplace.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants clarified their doubts and shared their views on fostering a respectful work culture.
