Drug peddler held in Katra

KATRA: Police arrested drug peddler during patrolling on the intervening night of May 20-21, 2025 and recovered large quantity of restricted medicines.

The accused, identified as Jamaat Ali, alias Biniya, son of Abdul Haq, resident of Padoh Khairi, Katra, was intercepted by a police team of Police Station Katra when he was moving on foot from the Kakryal side towards Katra.

During his search, police recovered 270 Tramadol tablets and 2870 Alprazolam tablets concealed in a plastic sack he was carrying.

The accused was immediately arrested and a case FIR number 145/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra. Further investigation into the case is underway.

The Police patrolling party was led by SHO Katra, Insp Khyatimaan Khajuria, under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey.
