AMO Udhampur organises PMFME workshop at Lahnu in Tikri Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: Area Marketing Office Udhampur, Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing, District Nodal Officer for PMFME scheme of Ministry of Food Processing Government of India organised one day workshop on PMFME scheme for farmers, SHG members and FPOs at Lahnu of block Tikri in Udhampur district.

Assistant Adviser J&K Directorate of Marketing & Inspections Government of India S K Koul was the chief guest.

Apart from a large number of farmers and SHG members, Anuj Verma Area Marketing Officer Udhampur, Dr Munish Sharma Senior Scientist SKUAST-J, Gopal Krishan Chief Manager PNB Udhampur, Manager J&K Bank Tikri, Shiny Sharma DRP PMFME, Anita Sharma Ex Sarpanch Lahnu Panchayat, Adarsh Kumar HDO Tikri, PMFME beneficiaries from Udhampur Rohit Salaria and Kewal Krishan, Kamal Kishor AGMO Udhampur, Abdul Kabir Wani MI were present.

S K Koul informed the gathering that the Central and the UT governments have launched a number of schemes for farmers, unemployed youth and women SHG members with the subsidy up to ninety percent. He asked farmers and SHG members to take benefits of Government schemes in full and embark on the path of Prime Minister Sankalp of Viksit Bharat.

Farmers were asked to adopt the latest technologies as well as techniques like crop diversification, Market diversification, grading & packaging, storage & processing so as to get good returns of their produce.

Anuj Verma AMO Udhampur and other speakers from different departments briefed the audience about PMFME scheme, The Government of India scheme being implemented by the J&K Agriculture Production Department in J&K envisages 35% subsidy, easy bank finance, help in Documentation/ DPR and complete hand holding including branding & marketing.
