Farmers imparted Training on Commercial Floriculture at Village Kumhari- Doda

DODA: The Department of Floriculture, Parks and Gardens organized a one-day training program on Commercial Floriculture for farmers at Kumhari Panchayat Shangroo in Block Bhalla Doda.

The program was held under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme ATMA, with the objective of promoting commercial floriculture practices and enhancing farmers' income.

A large number of farmers participated in the event, reflecting their growing interest in floriculture and aromatic crops.

The session included a detailed discussion on commercial floriculture practices and cultivation of aromatic crops like lavender and rosemary. Farmers also shared their concerns related to the cultivation of marigold, lavender, and other commercial flowers. Experts responded to their queries and assured continued support from the department.

Assistant Floriculture Officer Pawan Kumar briefed the participants about the Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented in the district. He emphasised that apart from technical support and latest farming technologies, the department also offers financial assistance in the form of incentives to the farmers.

The training program was conducted under the overall guidance of Director General Vivek Sharma and the supervision of Landscape Officer Vikrant Kumar.

The event also saw participation from prominent progressive farmers including Rajinder Kumar, Pritam Singh and Bans Raj, along with several women farmers.

The participants appreciated the efforts and regular support provided by the Department of Floriculture, Parks and Gardens, Jammu.

The training program served as a valuable platform for farmers to interact with experts, gain knowledge, and explore new opportunities in floriculture, ultimately aiming to improve their livelihoods through sustainable agricultural practice.
