IIIM holds Town Official Language Implementation Committee Jammu Meeting

JAMMU: The second half-yearly meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Jammu for the year 2024-25 was held on Wednesday at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu.
Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIIM and Chairman, TOLIC, Jammu chaired the meeting. The objective of this meeting was to review the performance of Hindi related works being carried out in the TOLIC during the preceding two quarters i.e. April-June, 2024 and July-September, 2024.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu and Chairman TOLIC emphasized the significant role of Hindi Language which represents the rich ethos of our nation. He stressed upon all the members to actively participate in the meetings of TOLIC and contribute to the annual contribution of TOLIC.
Dr. Ahmed highlighted and appreciated the progress made by all the members and organization of TOLIC's, Jammu during the past six months. Further, he conveyed optimism about expanding its activities in the future while promising to take care of training and workshops to be conducted at institutional level. The decision was unanimously well regarded.
Earlier, Sanjay Sharma, Member-Secretary, TOLIC, Jammu welcomed all the representatives of the various departments and commenced the meeting with a review of various Central Government offices located in Jammu region.
The review was done on the basis of quarterly progress reports submitted by member institutions during the period April-June, 2024 and July-September, 2024. After the review round, an open discussion was held among the attendees, focusing on opportunities to promote the progressive adoption of Hindi in the official framework. The discussion aimed to identify ways to improve the implementation strategies of the Official Language Policy of the Government of India.
On this occasion, the 12th edition of "Gyanvarta" Hindi magazine was also unveiled and released by the Chairman, TOLIC and other dignitaries. Further, top performers were also felicitated.
The meeting was attended by officers and employees of various offices of TOLIC, Jammu, among whom Santosh Kumar, Assistant Director, Central Hindi Training Institute, Jammu; P. Palanivel, Deputy Director General, National Statistical Office, Jammu; Rajesh Kumar, Regional Passport Officer, Regional Passport Office, Jammu; Sanjay Sharma, Member Secretary, TOLIC, Jammu. The meeting saw a participation of a total 70 representatives from the member institutes.
