GDC Kastigarh observes National Children's Day

DODA: Government DY SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College Kastigarh celebrated National Children's Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, known for his deep affection for children.

The event, held under the guidance of Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, Principal of the college, aimed to honor Nehru's legacy and to raise awareness among students about their rights and responsibilities as young citizens.

The celebration featured an extension lecture delivered by Dr. Firdoos Ahmed and Zahid Hussain, focusing on fundamental rights and duties in college and society. This lecture served as a platform to educate students on their constitutional rights, fostering a sense of civic responsibility and empowering them to participate actively in nation-building efforts. Dr. Firdoos Ahmed emphasized the importance of youth engagement in community service, while Zahid Hussain encouraged students to respect the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

Additionally, the event included an interactive session conducted by Asst. Prof. Satpal, where students discussed various rights issues, enabling them to understand the practical implications of their roles as responsible citizens. This segment aimed to build a foundation for students to advocate for their rights and contribute positively to society.

The program witnessed the presence of distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Anupam Lata, Dr. Arjun Singh, Dr. Sajad Ahmad, Dr. Sajad Ahmad Kar, and others, who contributed to making the event a success.

The college's commitment to student development and civic awareness was evident, as this celebration marked a meaningful tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru and his vision for the youth of India.
