PTM held in Govt schools across Doda District

DODA: The government schools in District Doda conducted monthly parent-teacher meetings to get feedback and suggestions from parents regarding their children's education, here today.

Chief Education Officer Parkash Lal Thapa said the move is aimed at improving the education system and the well-being of students. The parent-teacher meetings have become a regular feature in government schools of Jammu and Kashmir. "Every month, schools conduct the meetings, in which academic-related issues as well as mental health, health and hygiene, and personal development and well-being of students are being deliberated upon" he said.

Schools of District Doda conducted parent-teacher meetings on the theme "Role of Parents in prevention of Drug Abuse among School going Students" along with routine academic activities, enrollment drive, academic performance gained by the students in the examination. The main focus is to gear up maximum enrollment in the schools during the academic year 2024.

Besides, the students were encouraged to sign and submit the Anti-Drug Declaration Form to the Head of Institutions concerned for onward submission.

Parents were also made aware about various aspects of life skills. "The role of parents and teachers has become very important for the lives of students. The feedback by parents helps boost the education in government schools" the parents were told.

Some of the themes included ‘Role of parents during examinations', ‘Role of parents in ensuring safety and security of school-going children', ‘Role of parents in developing life skills', ‘Inculcating moral values in children', ‘Role of parents in preventing drug abuse among children', ‘Emotional wellbeing' and ‘Understanding adolescents and parenting during adolescence.
