Literary Club inaugurated in MIER College of Education

JAMMU: The inaugural function of the Literary Club was held in MIER College of Education with great enthusiasm.

Dr Adit Gupta, Director and Principal MIER College of Education; Rupa Gupta, Joint Director MIER; Dr Nishta Rana, HoD School of Education; Dr Monika Bajaj, HoD School of Social Sciences and Humanities; Dy HoD Dr Bharti Tandon; Jasleen Mohial, Coordinator IQAC, faculty members and the students of both the Schools of MIER College of Education attended the program.

The event showcased various activities including a humorous One-Act Play, storytelling session, surprising facts about great authors and book review.

The event kicked off with a poem recitation by Prableen Kaur, a student of BA (Hons) Psychology semester IV. This was followed by the blind-dating one-act comedy by Jonathan Rand, performed by the club members Arzoo Sharma, Yashaswi, Charu Rajput, Naman, Jaspreet, Aarohi and Aaraghya.

The play, titled "Check Please," depicted humorous situations and characters, drawing laughter and applause from the audience. The audience was then treated to a captivating storytelling session by Charu Rajput, a student of BA (Hons) English.

The event also featured insightful book review presented by BA (Hons) Psychology student Sehaj Chawla on Good Vibes, Good Life authored by Vex King. She provided an overview of the content, themes, and the reviewer's personal reflections on the book.

Mehak Mattoo and Yashaswi Thusoo presented some amazing facts about the great authors and personalities born in the month of April.

Dr Adit Gupta, speaking on the occasion, said that the Literary Club will provide a platform for expression, entertainment, and intellectual engagement. This event will set the tone for future activities of the club, promising more enriching literary experiences for the entire student community, he added.

The programme was coordinated by Dr Reeta Dwivedi and Dr Sahil Bhagat. Aarzoo Sharma, a student of BA (Hons) English semester IV formally welcomed the audience, Dr Reeta Dwivedi spoke about the introduction, vision & objectives of the club. Ananya, BA (Hons), Psychology semester IV, compeered the programme and Mehak presented the formal vote of thanks.
