Seven-day Winter Camp kicks off at GDC Kathua (Boys)

KATHUA: The NSS Units of GDC Kathua today inaugurated a Seven-Day Special Winter Camp.

The Camp will continue till March 19, 2024, under the patronage of Principal Prof. Seema Mir.

The initiative, a flagship endeavor of the NSS, aims to provide participants an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to society while fostering personal growth and leadership skills.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of senior faculty members Dr. Sanjay Kurlopia, Dr. Yash Paul, Dr. Ram Singh, Prof. Shivani Kotwal, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dr. J.S Soodan, Prof. Charandeep Handa and Dr. Jasvinder Singh, alongside various other faculty members.

Dr. J.S Soodan, HOD Physical Education and Dr. Ram Singh, HOD Education lauded the efforts of NSS Volunteers and Program Officers for organizing an informative camp for the local community in the adopted village.

Dr. Kulbir Singh delivered the formal welcome address, followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. Pinkey. The proceedings were conducted by Vishal and Aliesha.

Cultural performances by NSS volunteers highlighted the event, followed by a cleanliness drive within the college premises, in line with the Swachh Bharat campaign.

This year's camp exemplifies NSS's commitment to addressing pertinent challenges and promoting sustainable development. Volunteers will engage in various activities including Swachh Bharat missions, environmental conservation projects, women's health and hygiene awareness campaigns, voting initiatives, and digital technology outreach efforts.

These awareness initiatives will be carried out in the newly adopted village, Logate, in Kathua district.
