26th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships 2023-24 set to kick off in Jammu

JAMMU: J&K Taekwondo Association (Regd) is going to conduct the "26th J&K UT TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023-24" (Kyorugi/Poomsae/Para) under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI), and J&K Sports Council to be held Indoor Sports Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu starting from 14th - 16th February 2024.
The Championships is open to Sub Junior Boys and Girls, aged between 7 & 11+ Years (Born between 01/01/2012 and 31/12/2016), Cadet (B&G) aged between 12 & 14 Years (Born between 01/01/2009 & 31/12/2011) & Junior (B&G) aged between 15 & 17 Years (Born between 01/01/2006 & 31/12/2008) based on the year 2023 are eligible.
Only players are eligible to take part in the above-mentioned events who have participated in their concerned District Taekwondo Championships 2023-24. Only 2 athletes in each Kyorugi weight category from a district association are eligible to participate.
Age will be calculated based on the year 2023. In addition to this, the JKTA Athlete License and JKSC registration are mandatory for all the athletes to participate in above said Championships. The last date for online registration is on 13th February 2024 before 10:00 PM.
The Medallist players of Cadet, Junior and Senior girls age groups will represent J&K-UT in the upcoming Phase 2 of 1st Khelo India Women's Taekwondo League 2023-24 from 21st to 24th February 2024 at KD Singh Babu Indoor Stadium, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, organized by Uttar Pradesh Taekwondo Association, under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India & Khelo India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
It was decided unanimously by all the office bearers of J&K Taekwondo Association (Regd) in a meeting under the supervision of Rajesh Pangotra, President J&K Taekwondo Association (Regd). Atul Pangotra is appointed as Technical Chairman, Chandeep Singh (World Para Championship Medallist), Zaheer Abbas Khan (International Player) is appointed as Technical Member & Anuj Sharma is the Organizing Secretary to look after the above-mentioned event.
Moreover, all Players are advised to report to Indoor Sports Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu on 14TH of February 2024 at 3:00 pm sharp for weigh-in along with Complete Registration forms duly signed by the parents also attach the Date of Birth certificate issued by the Municipality or the Concerned Sarpanch of the village, Adhar Card and Bank passbook copy.
