MIET hosts inaugural HR Conclave on Industry Trends

JAMMU: Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) (Autonomous) successfully hosted a groundbreaking HR Conclave themed "AI @ Work: Transforming HR Horizons and Employability."

This transformative event brought together HR leaders, including Sougata Sen, General Manager and Head of Campus Recruitment & Relations at Hexaware Technologies; Srilakshmi Iyer, Senior Contingent Workforce Manager at VMware; Anand Dhruv, Associate Director & Head of Talent Development & Early Careers at NTT Ltd.; and Karuna Shettenavar, Senior Talent Acquisition Business Partner for Early Talent at Novartis.

The first half of the conclave featured keynote addresses by each HR leader delving into pivotal topics such as hiring trends, the transition from corporate to career, the impact of technology on HR practices, and the key skills necessary for success in the industry. These insights offered valuable perspectives on the ever-evolving landscape of human resources within the context of AI at work.

The second session of the conclave witnessed a dynamic panel discussion, where speakers engaged in thought-provoking dialogue on employment prerequisites and recruiter expectations. Critical aspects of key recruitment factors were explored, including crafting effective resumes, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.

The discussion underscored key factors in the hiring process and emphasized the importance of projecting a positive image in professional settings.

Additionally, the panelists highlighted the significance of adapting positively to industry culture, stress management, and achieving a work-life balance.

Discussions further explored continuous learning, career growth, the role of AI in recruitment, and the art of evaluating job offers. The session concluded with guidance on pursuing international careers and the importance of networking in the ever-evolving IT industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Ankur Gupta, Director MIET, underscored the institution's commitment to providing students with valuable insights into the ever-changing landscape of Human Resources.

He laid emphasis on institutions' strategic focus on cultivating networks and partnerships in providing substantial exposure, preparing students for the challenges and opportunities in the corporate world. He further extended his sincere appreciation to the distinguished HR leaders for their invaluable contributions.

The HR Conclave provided a valuable platform for students to gain insights into the intricacies of the recruitment process, the campus-to-corporate journey, and the evolving landscape of Human Resources.
