Jodhamal's Junior Wing celebrates 19th Annual Day

JAMMU: The 19th Annual Day of the Junior Wing was celebrated in the school campus. The theme of the annual Day was "The Quantum Leap", which indicated the whole journey of evolution of education from Papyrus to Tablet.

Piyush Singla, Secretary Revenue, J&K Govt, was the Chief Guest and Shridhar Patil, DIG Traffic, Jammu, was the Guest of Honor. The other dignitaries who attended were Yasha Mudgal, Commissioner/Secretary, Cooperative Department, J&K, Bhupinder Kumar, Secretary to the Government. Health and Medical Education, J&K, Prithpal Singh DIG.

The program commenced with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp to invoke the blessings of the Almighty proceeding with the welcome address by Ms Sarojj, Academic Coordinator Junior Wing.

The vision of the school was presented by Nandan Kuthiala, the trustee, in which he expressed his keen desire of creating a dynamic environment to bring out the best of every student in a holistic manner.

The school Principal Girish Kumar read out the annual report for the session 2022- 23. He thanked the school's stakeholders for the 1+ ranking of the school for the ninth year in a row in J&K by the most prestigious journal, Education World. He told the audience about the capabilities of the JMPIANS stating that nearly 80 students are participating in National School Games of various sports.

He reported that Jodhamal is a pioneer in STEM Education and has manufactured a Drone swarm consisting of over 25 drones. A special mention was made of the students whose achievements have been recorded in various Record Books of India, Asia and the world. He also highlighted the awards and achievements of Jodhamal authors.

The Chief Guest in his address mentioned that he was exhilarated to see the beautiful blend of various art forms. He congratulated Jodhamal Public School for being the trail blazer that has achieved many educational feats not only in the city but also on the national and international Canvas.

The school rock band ‘Stampede' and the school orchestra offered a repertoire of tunes of musical Maestros, reflecting the music of the past and connecting it with the present, to set the mood of the audience.

Commencing with the soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana the day unfolded with the captivating play titled "The Quantum Leap: Papyrus to Tablet", the theatrical masterpiece delved into the evolution of the Indian education system. The play was scripted, directed and produced by the members of Team Jodhamal.

The narrative transcended eras, beginning with the Gurukuls and taking the audience further to the times of Chanakya, the marvelous depiction of Ashoka the great, who renounced warfare, and got converted to Buddhism.

The performers paid homage to the influential women of India - Rani Lakshmi Bai, Savitribai Phule and Shakuntala Devi. Their invaluable contributions to education were brought to life through gripping enactments, stirring the audience with their indomitable spirit.

The performance seamlessly transitioned spotlighting the evolution from wooden planks to blackboards, symbolizing a pivotal shift in educational methodology. Furthermore the event shed light on the monumental changes brought in by the pandemic, highlighting the swift adaptation from traditional classrooms to the realm of online learning.

The advent of National Education Policy (NEP) emerged as a beacon of change offering a more conducive and less burdensome curriculum alleviating the academic pressure on the students.

"Heal the World" was an extraordinary presentation that gave a brief glimpse of various ‘giving back to the society' initiatives, drives and scholarships in an endeavour to make the JMPIANS well civilized and honorable citizens of the society. It is worth mentioning that there was a participation of more than 600 students on/off stage in this exquisite show.

The main awards were received by the House In-charges, Head Boy/Girl and the Academic and CCA prefects of the junior wing. Parents and guests seemed glued to the complete program, having a glint of pride in their eyes as they watched the mesmerizing performances of the students.

The event was a great success which was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by the Junior School Head Girl Maanya Vikram Randhawa, followed by the national anthem.
