GDC Ramgarh organizes awareness program on Swachh Diwali Shubh Diwali

SAMBA: Government Degree College Ramgarh on Tuesday organized awareness program on Swachh Diwali Shubh Diwali to mark the celebrations of Clean and Eco-friendly Diwali. The event was organized by Eco-Club of the College under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanajli Andotra, principal of the College.

Prof.(Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra in her address said that participation to make this Diwali a Single Use Plastic and Pollution Free Event should be strictly followed by all the citizens and urgued the students for strict compliance to make the campaign a success.

The campaign aims at invoking the cultural significance of Diwali coupled with the journey of Swachh Bharat.

This initiative aims to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment and communities by sensitizing and motivating individuals to opt for locally made products, embrace a Diwali free from single-use plastic and prioritize pre and post Diwali cleanliness.

The whole event was coordinated by Prof. Risha Kumari, Convener Eco-Club and said that the concept of Swachh Diwali Shubh Diwali emphasizes the importance of a clean and eco-friendly celebration.

By doing so, it seeks to foster a sustainable and environmentally conscious approach to the festival.

All the faculty members and a large no of students participated in the awareness programme.
