National Unity Day celebrated at MIER College

JAMMU: To celebrate National Unity Day, the NSS Unit of MIER College of Education organized a pledge ceremony followed by a documentary screening on the theme "Life History and Philosophy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel" to celebrate his 147th birth anniversary.

More than eighty students of B.A. Honour programmes attended the event with great enthusiasm and zeal. In addition to offering a ceremonial greeting, Mrs. Komal Sharma provided a succinct overview of National Unity Day.

The NSS volunteers took a pledge and made a lifelong commitment to protecting the country's integrity, unity, and security.

The pledge was recited in both English and Hindi by Tehzeeb Qureshi, a student of B.A. (Hons.) Political Science, Sem-III and Ananya, B.A. (Hons.) Psychology, Sem-III. This was followed by a documentary that showcased Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's life journey, ideology, and contributions to the nation's freedom.

Dr. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal, appreciated the efforts of the NSS Unit in organizing such events. In his motivational address, he highlighted the philosophy of Sardar Patel, the values and ideals he upheld, his commitment and zeal for serving the society. He underlined that to help the underprivileged members of society, students could draw inspiration from Sardar Patel's life.

Pihu Bhardwaj of B.A. (Hons.) Psychology, Sem-III, ably conducted the programme. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Aarzoo of B.A. (Hons.) English, Sem-III.

The event was organized under the guidance of Komal Sharma, Programme Officer, NSS and Sonika Kumari, member NSS Unit.
